Larry

Larry was 23yrs when first treated with myotherapy. He had recently acquired an injury which resulted in an infected joint.

The vet was not sure he would ever be sound enough for regular pleasure riding. Initially, after his injury, Larry had quality veterinary care and then had regular myotherapy treatments.

Once the injury healed, a reassessment from the vet revealed that Larry was able to re-commence light work. After approximately two months the vet returned to assess if Larry was tolerating the work. It was smiles all around, as Larry was sound and back to his normal self. He was cleared by the vet and able to continue his pleasure riding and light competition.

His owner was delighted! Larry still has maintenance treatments every few months to maintain his muscles suppleness, to iron out any adhesions or imbalances that may have developed and to assist with any arthritic changes that his joints may have.

Dolly

Dolly is a quiet horse who does not give away too much information during her treatments. Her body language is subtle and I am sure she does most of her tension releasing in the privacy of her paddock after we have gone.

Initially some of her muscles were adhesed (rock hard) and her muscle elasticity was dramatically reduced. There were some areas of muscle wastage. Her improvement after her first treatment was greater than I had ever seen in any horse before.

Dolly is a classic case which clearly shows how us, as myotherapists, can stimulate the muscles to heal themselves. A lot of the healing, regaining of muscle awareness and the integration of the nervous system is done by the body in the few days post treatment, which is why we ask you not to ride your horse for 3 days. This allows your horse's body to get the maximum amount of benefit from the treatment provided.
